On June 2, Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack on a key facility of the Naftogaz group in the Kharkiv region. This was reported by Serhiy Koretsky, the head of the board of Naftogaz Ukraine. According to him, during the nighttime assault, the enemy carried out a combined strike, initially attacking the facility with drones. About an hour later, they launched a second attack, this time with missiles. Koretsky noted that there were no casualties. "This is a deliberate tactic of terror. The Russians aim to inflict maximum damage not only on infrastructure but also on the people who are involved in rescue, repair, and restoration efforts. Such tactics were responsible for the tragic consequences on the night of May 5, when our colleagues and rescue workers from the State Emergency Service lost their lives," Koretsky emphasized. He added that in response to these realities, the company has implemented stricter safety protocols to minimize risks for its employees. Koretsky also mentioned that damage assessments and recovery work would commence as soon as the security situation permits. --- ### About Naftogaz **Naftogaz** is one of the most important entities in the Ukrainian energy sector, encompassing a wide range of companies from the country’s largest gas extraction company, JSC "Ukrgazvydobuvannya," to the operator of trunk oil pipelines, JSC "Ukrtransnafta." On May 29, Russian forces attacked areas in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, resulting in significant damage to infrastructure and outbreaks of fire.
